Claude + MCP

Connect the Eclectic MCP in Claude

Turn Eclectic into a custom connector in Claude so you can query your business data and tools from a conversation.

01

Open Connectors from Settings

02

Add a custom connector

03

Sign in to Eclectic

04

Turn it on in the conversation

If your team already uses Claude to research, write or work through operational tasks, connecting the Eclectic MCP removes the constant tab switching. Claude reads what is available in Eclectic from the same conversation.

Setup takes no engineering work. You do it from the connectors section using the public Eclectic MCP URL. After you log in, the connector stays available for future conversations in your workspace.

Plan availability

Custom MCP connectors are not on every plan. Check yours before you start.

PlanCustom MCP connectors
Free

Available, one connector

The free plan supports a single custom connector at a time.

Pro and Max

Available

Each person adds it themselves from Settings > Connectors.

Team and Enterprise

Enabled by an Owner

An Owner creates the connector under Organization Settings > Connectors > Add > Custom > Web, then each member connects with their own account.

01

Open Connectors from Settings

In Claude, click your name at the bottom left and go to Settings > Connectors. On Team or Enterprise plans an Owner does this from Organization Settings > Connectors.

02

Add a custom connector

Choose Add custom connector and paste the Eclectic MCP URL. You do not need a Client ID or Client Secret: OAuth registration is automatic.

03

Sign in to Eclectic

Claude redirects you to the Eclectic login. Finish signing in and return to Claude to complete the connection.

04

Turn it on in the conversation

Use the + button at the bottom left of the chat, open Connectors and enable Eclectic. When Claude asks for permissions, you can leave the read tools approved.

Connector URL

Use exactly this address when creating the connector.

https://api.eclecticlabs.com/api/integrations/mcp/eclectic/

What you should see at the end

The connector shows as active in Claude and you can ask it to look things up in Eclectic without redoing the setup.

Recommendations

Use the Eclectic account that has access to the right business.

Claude connects from its cloud, not from your machine. If the connector fails, check that the URL matches the one published here exactly.

If your session expired during login, go back to Connectors and reconnect.

Official client documentation

Menus change often in these apps. If something does not match what you see on screen, this is the authoritative source.

Claude

Once connected, Claude works with Eclectic on far less manual context. For sales, support and operations teams, that means fewer steps and faster answers.

If you are rolling this out to several people, share this guide internally along with the connector URL.
